Paper Plate Snakes
Materials:
- White Paper Plates
- Markers
- Safety Scissors
- Googly Eye
Directions:
Have your class color their entire paper plate to look like a snake (coloring both sides makes a neat effect. Once they are done coloring, help them to cut in a circular motion from the edge of the plate to the center. Once you are done cutting the plate will unwind to form a snake. Glue a Googly eye on the center head.
How Do We Compare To An Elephant
Directions:
- Cut an elephant shape form a sheet of bulletin board paper (a typical baby elephant is 3 feet tall.) Have your children estimate how much a baby elephant weighs (average 232). Weigh your children and add up theri weights to show them that they are each about the same height as an elephant, but all of them combined are close to an elephants weight.
Itsy Bitsy Monkey

Down came a coconut & hit him on his knee ...Oww! (Hit hands on knee)
Out came a lion shaking his mighty mane...AND.. (use hands to make mane)
The Itsy Bitsy monkey climbed up the tree again (Climb up with hands)
Monkey Obstacle Course
Directions:
- Set up an obstacle course outside for your little monkeys. You can use swings, ropes, boxes to crawl through, etc. Reward your monkeys with a banana once they finish.
