Valentine Mailboxes
Materials:
- One Small Box With Lid Per Child
- Name Tag with Child's Picture and Name
- Glue
- Safety Scissors
- Classroom Art Treasures
- Red Spray Paint
Directions:
- Spray paint the boxes and lid with red paint. Once the paint has dried cut out a mail slot into the top of each lid and put the boxes back together. Stick a special name tag on top of each child's box for them to write theri name on. Set out craft supplies (ribbons, buttons, beads, stickers etc) and have your children glue them to their boxes.
Candy Hearts Creation
Materials:
- Pink Tinted Paint
- Poster Board
- Candy Conversation Hearts
Directions:
- Cut out hearts from poster board. Have your children paint pink glue onto their heart and then stick the conversation hearts on to make a 3 dimensional heart.
Heart Rubbing
Materials:
- Sandpaper
- Poster Board
- Glue Gun
- Crayons
- Thin Paper
Directions:
- Before the children arrive use a glue gun to trace hearts of different
sizes onto a piece of poster board. Have your children place a piece of thin
paper over the hearts and rub it with a crayon. They will be amazed when hearts
appear on their paper. You can also cut out hearts from sandpaper and tape
to a pice of poster board. Have your children place a piece of thin paper
over the board and rub with a crayon. They will trace a beautiful bumpy valentines
day heart
Disappearing Hearts
Materials:
- White Vinegar
- Red and Pink Tissue Paper
- Paintbrushes
- Heavy White Paper
Directions:
- Before beginning the project cut tissue paper hearts in several different sizes. Have your children paint vinegar onto their white paper and then place the tissue paper hearts onto the paper. Once the tissue paper dries it will peel off to reveal beautiful heart designs.
Easel Heart Painting
Materials:
- Easel Paper
- Pink, Red and Purple Paint
Directions:
Cut out hearts from the paper and attach them to your easel. Let your children paint theri very own extra large valentine.
