Indian Corn
  • Corn on the cob cut out
  • Pop Corn
  • Tempra paint powder
  • Glue
  • Corn husks
What to Do
  • Pop some air popcorn; while it is still hot place it into three Ziploc bags. Add a different color of tempra paint powder into each bag. Shake the bags to spread the powder. Once the popcorn has cooled set it out to make Indian corn. Have your children put glue on the corn cutout and then stick the popcorn on. Once they are done staple real corn husks on. This makes beautiful Indian corn creations. (be sure to watch your children with the popcorn.)

Turkey Felt board
Cut five turkey body shapes and fifteen feather shapes out of felt. Number the turkey shapes from 1 to 5 and put them on a flannel board. Place the feather shapes in a pile. To play the game, have the children take turns selecting a turkey identifying the number on it and adding that many feathers to it.

(to the tune of Are you sleeping)
Thanksgiving, thanksgiving
Time is here, time is here
Turkey’s on the table,
Turkey’s on the table,
Yum, yum, yum
Yum, yum, yum

Set out two large brown sheets of bulletin board paper. Have your children paint eh paper with paint brushes and stamps. Once the paint has dried wrap the paper around pvc pipes to form a teepee and cut two slits to make a door. Place some books about Thanksgiving in the Teepee to create a new reading area.
