Shape Nature Walk
Directions:
- Take your class on a nature walk to look for shapes. Every time you see a shape from nature have a child draw the shape for you in your classroom notebook. Look for a circle shaped sun, rectangle blades of grass, circle bugs etc.
Shape Rubbing
Directions:
- Use a glue gun to make shapes onto white construction paper. Have your children rub a crayon across it to reveal hidden shapes.
Shape Puzzles
Directions:
- Cut out large shapes from different colors of poster board. Cut the shapes into different pieces and have your children put them together to create a shape.
Shape Bottles
Directions:
- Fill water bottels half way full with sand. Add different shaped object to the mix. Shake it up to hide the objects. Have your children shake the bottle to reveal different shaped objects.
Shape Sorting
Directions:
- Cut out different sized shapes from different colors of paper and mix them up. Let your children sort them by shapes.
