Animal Shapes
Materials:
- Construction Paper
- Glue
- Safety Scissors
- Markers
Directions:
- Cut out a variety of shapes in different shapes and colors. Have your children glue the shapes onto their paper to make different animal shapes. Let your children use the markers to finish their creations.
Shape Easel Painting
Materials:
- Easel
- Paint
- Paintbrushes
- Easel Paper
Directions:
- Have your children paint shapes at the easel. For younger children you may want to draw outlines.
Shape Collage
Materials:
- Magazine
- Safety Scissors
- Glue
- Construction Paper
Directions:
- Have your children look through magazines for picutres that are shapes. Have them cut the shapes out and glue them onto their paper. After the craft is done, let each child take turn sharing their project and identifying each shape.
Shape Tracing
Materials:
- Shape Stencils
- Safety Scissors
- Pencils
- Construction Paper
Directions:
- Provide your children with simple shape stencils, made from poster board. Have your children pick a shape, trace it and then cut it out.
Sponge Shape Painting
Materials:
- Sponges cut into a variety of shapes
- Paint
- Construction Paper
Directions:
- Sponge Paint with all of the different shapes. Help your children identify what each shape is.
