I'm Picking out a Pumpkin
(to the tune of: I'm bringing home a baby bumblebee)
I'm picking out a pumpkin on a vine.
I want one big and fat and fine.
I'm picking out a pumpkin on a vine.
Oh, I see mine !

I'm pulling on a pumpkin on a vine.
I'ts so big and fat and fine!
I'm pulling on a pumpkin on a vine.
Snap, It's Mine!

Pumpkin Pounding
Put seasonal squash and pumpkins into the woodworking area. Provide safety goggles, small mallets or hammers, and golf tees. Have the children hammer the golf tees into the pumpkin or squash. When it begins to fall apart, cut it into pieces and remove the seeds. Let the children continue to use the tees to work with the pumkin pieces.
