Pumpkin Stamping
Materials:
- Pumpkin
- Knife
- Toothpicks
- Paint
- Construction paper
- Cut your pumpkins and use the pulp to make different stamps ex. Heart, circle, square. Stick a toothpick into the stamp and make a pumpkin picture.
Yarn Pumpkins
Materials:
- Balloons
- Orange yarn
- Glue
- Water
- Construction paper cut into pumpkin features
- Blow up a round balloon. Dip about 2 yards of orange yarn into a mixture of one part glue and one part water. Wrap the yarn around the balloon until it is completely covered. When the glue is dry, pop the balloon and then remove it. Finally glue construction paper features onto the pumpkin.
Pumpkin and Shakin'
Materials:
- Empty half-pint milk carton
- Orange Paint
- Beans
- Stapler
- Green Curling ribbon
- Green construction paper
- Paint an empty half-pint milk carton orange. When the paint is dry, place a handful of dried beans inside the container. Cut several lengths of green curling ribbon; then tape one of each length inside the carton top. Curl the ribbon to resemble vines. Staple two construction paper leaves to the top of the carton while stapling it shut. Have fun shaking the pumpkins while you sing pumpkin songs.
Pumpkin Bubble Collage
Materials:
- Construction paper
- Bubbles (different colors)
- Bubble blowers
- Have your children cut out a Pumpkin shape from paper. Then give them bubbles colored several different colors (food coloring works but can stain clothes). Have them blow these bubbles onto their Pumpkin cutouts. This creates really neat designs. Bubble recipe:
- One cup granulated soap or soap powder
- One quart warm water
- liquid food coloring Directions:
- Dissolve soap in warm water. Stir in food coloring. Use.
