Pet themed easel painting
Materials:
  • Different colors of paint
  • Easel paper
  • Paint brushes
What to Do
  • Set out different colors of paint with your easel to encourage your class to paint different animals (ex. Black and white for a dalmation).

Animal Memory
Purchase the Animal Memory game or make your very own. To make one copy 2 pictures of each animal and glue them on to poster board squares. Turn the squares over and select to. When you flip over to of the same cards you have a match. The child with the most matches wins. The number of cards you put out will depend on the skill level of your class.

I know a kitty
(to the tune of : BINGO)
I know a cat with perky ears,
And kitty is her name-o.
K-I-T-T-Y, K-I-T-T-Y, K-I-T-T-Y,
And Kitty is her name-o.
She makes a sound and it's "meow,"
And Kitty is her name-o.
K-I-T-T-Y, K-I-T-T-Y, K-I-T-T-Y,
And Kitty is her name-o.

Bring your pet to school day
If your school allows it invite your children to bring their pets to school. You can also just have your children bring in a picture of their pet and talk about it during group time.
