Baby Animal Matching
Make an animal bulletin for your class. Draw and cut out five mother animals (attach a piece of yarn to each animal) and attach them to the right side of your bulletin board. Attach five corresponding baby animal pictures (with a small piece of Velcro on each one) to the left side of your board. The goal is to match the mother animal to the baby animal by attaching the string from the mother to the Velcro on the correct baby.

Mary had a little cat

(to the tune of: Mary had a little lamb)

(substitute any child's name)

Mary had a little cat, little cat, little cat,
Mary had a little cat, Its fur was white as snow.
other verses:

Everywhere that Mary went...the cat was sure to go.
It followed her to school one day. Oh, yes, the cat knew how
It made the children laugh and play...to hear the cat meow

Pet Wash
Set up your home living area like a groomers shop with stuffed animals, brushes, hair bows, combs, blow driers, and any other grooming accessories you can find. Let your class groom the animals.
