Lei
Materials:
  • Yarn (long enough to reach around children's necks)
  • Tissue Paper
Directions:
  • Cut out squares of different colored tissue paper and punch a hole through the middle (you can use a pencil or hole punch). Then let the children string the paper onto the yarn creating a great Lei. Some children will use all one color, some will vary their colors, some will make unique patterns, one thing that is for sure is that they all will be unique.


Pineaple Stain Glass
Materials:
  • Contact Paper or Waxed Paper
  • Tissue Paper or Construction Paper
  • Googly Eyes
  • Yarn
Directions:
  • Give the kids the contact paper (or glue and wax paper) cut out as a piece of fruit. Apples, strawberries, and watermelons work great. . Then Let your kids make their own stain glass fruit. After they have dried hang them in the window to make a beautiful stained glass look.


Hula Skirt
Materials:
  • Paper Bag
  • Safety Scissors
  • Yarn
  • Stapler
  • Paint
  • Glitter
Directions:
  • Cut the Top off the bag. Then cut strips up leaving enough to fold over at the top. Fold the top over putting yarn on the inside of the fold. Next staple the top to hold the yarn in. The Yarn works as a belt to keep the hula skirt up when the children are playing. Next give the children the skirts and let them decorate their skirts. Make a few extra skirts as they occasionally tear.


Another Hula Skirt
Materials:
  • Crate Paper
  • Safety Scissors
  • Yarn
  • Glue
Directions:
  • Cut the crate paper out, give the children the strips and let them paste it on the yarn. After dried tie around children like a belt.


Straw Fruit Art
Materials:
  • Paint
  • Paper
Directions:
  • Have your children draw a picture of a piece of fruit then have them put a few drops of paint that are the color of the fruit on the edge of the paper. Using a straw have them blow the paint across the paper. This looks really neat and our children love it!
