Fall Tree
Materials:
- Construction Paper
- Glue
- Give the children a piece of construction paper with a tree trunk drawn or glued to it. Give them smallsmall pieces of red, yellow, orange, and brown paper. Let them tear the colored paper into small pieces and glue on the tree and ground of the picture.
Sort Leaves
Collect different color leaves with or without your children. Spread the leaves
out on the table and have your children sort them. They can sort by shape, color,
or size.
The Apple Tree
Way up high in the apple tree (raise arms and sway like a tree)Two red apples smiled at me. (Keeping arms raised close hands into fists)
I shook that tree as hard as I could (shake arms)
Down came the apples. (shake to the ground)
Mumm they were good (take a pretend bite and then rub belly)
Take Home Scavengar hunt
Send a note home with each child describing the assignment. Example Note:
Enjoy a walk outside with your child on the walk please find the items listed below:
- 1 red leaf
- 1 brown leaf
- Small stones
- Small twigs
- Acorns
- Any other interesting items you can find
After you have collected your items, take the piece of paper provided and create a "Nature Creature." Please send it back to school, so your child can share it with the class.
