Wrap a piece of masking tape around each childs wrist sticky side out before going outside. Have your children stick nature pieces to it as they find them outside.

Send a note home with each child describing the assignment.
Example Note:

Enjoy a walk outside with your child on the walk please find the items listed below:

• 1 red leaf
• 1 brown leaf
• Small stones
• Small twigs
• Acorns
• Any other interesting items you can find

After you have collected your items, take the piece of paper provided and create a "Nature Creature." Please send it back to school, so your child can share it with the class.

Make sandwiches and use leaf cookie cutters to create leaf shaped sandwiches
Alternatively use Jell-O, to make Leafy Jigglers


For decorating for fall. Take fresh fallen leaves and attach them to fishing line of different lengths. Attach the other end of the line to the ceiling with thumb tacks. It's a lot of work, but the children love their room.

Cut out different sized and different colored triangles for your class. Encourage them to use the triangle to create a picture. Traingles can make all different pictures and creations when placed together.
