Friendship Bracelets
Materials:
- Craft beads (with large holes)
- Pipe cleaners cut a little longer than the wrist
- Colored Masking tape
- String the beads onto the pipe cleaners. Encourage the children to use a variety of colors or to make patterns. Once the beading is done, twist the pipe cleaners together to make a circle and close it with the tape (make the bracelet big enough to slide on and off). Talk with your class about the fact that every bracelet is different just like every friend is different. Some children may want to exchange bracelets with their friends.
Measure Me Friend
Pair your children up and give each pair string and Safety Scissors. Have one child
lie down and let them measure how tall he is and then cut the string. Then have
them switch. Latter they can compare their strings with their other friends
