Materials:
  • Construction paper
  • Glue
  • 18” long construction paper rectangle
Directions:
  • Trace and cut out each child’s handprints. Attach one handprint to each side of the rectangle. Write on the are (rectangle) part “My family is special because…” have the children dictate their answers to you and write it down..


Three Little Pigs houses
Directions:
  • Discuss with your class how families live in all different kinds of houses and then read The Three Little Pigs. After reading the book set out empty carboard milk containers and help your children create the three little pigs houses by using red sandpaper rectangles (bricks), straw, and small twigs (sticks). Your children will love recreating these houses

Class Cookbook
Directions:
  • Ask your parents to send a recipe from their grandparents as well as a picture (if no picture is available have the child draw one). Compile the recipes and give a cookbook to the parents.
