Who Would Use This?
Materials:<
  • Box or chest
  • Slippers
  • Tie
  • Mixer
  • Diaper
  • Dog bone
  • Lipstick
  • Hair bow
  • Baseball
Have your class go through the box and pull out items. Ask them who in their family uses the item and how they use it

Family Graph
Directions:
  • Ask each child how many people are in their family and graph the results. Depending on your class you may want to separate the categories by siblings, pets, grandparents, etc.


Color Mixing
Directions:
  • Fill freezer sized Ziploc bags with shaving cream. Select two colors of food coloring that will make a new color (ex. Red and yellow) squirt a few drops of each color into the bag and seal it shut with tape. Let your children mush the bags to discover a new color.


Three Little Pigs houses
Directions:
  • Discuss with your class how families live in all different kinds of houses and then read The Three Little Pigs. After reading the book set out empty carboard milk containers and help your children create the three little pigs houses by using red sandpaper rectangles (bricks), straw, and small twigs (sticks). Your children will love recreating these houses


Mommy and Baby Animals
Directions:
  • Create a manila folder game for your children to enjoy. Glue pictures of mother animals onto the folder. Place baby animal cutouts in a baggie. Have your children take out a baby animal and match it to the mother.
