Sand Painting
Materials:
  • Glue
  • Sand
Directions:
  • Have your children paint a picture with glue. They can then sift sand on top of their picture. This will cause their painting to look like it was painted with sand!


Spines on a Cactus
Have five potatoes with nail holes on a table. Put a number by each cactus have your children put the corresponding number of spines (toothpicks) into the cactus

Lizard Fingerplay
(Ball hand up of right hand as fist to represent fist and use a finger as a tongue ave pointer finger. )

(Hold up five fingers on left hand)
F ive little bugs on the forest floor
Along came a sticky tongue lizard ... sluuuurp!!!
Now there are Four

(Hold up four fingers on left hand)
Four little bugs soaking up the hot sun
Along came a sticky tongue lizard ... sluuuurp!!!
Now there are Three

(Hold up three fingers on left hand)
Three little bugs without a single clue
Along came a sticky tongue lizard ... sluuuurp!!!
Now there are Two

(Hold up two fingers on left hand)
Two little bugs on a cactus
Along came a sticky tongue lizard ... sluuuurp!!!
Now there is One

(Hold up one finger on left hand)
One little bug knew that he was done
Along came a sticky tongue lizard ... sluuuurp!!!
Now there are none.



Desert Snack
Sprinkle graham cracker crumbs on pudding to represent sand, put in licorice cactus, and other fun items
