Paper Rainbow
Materials:
- Construction Paper (every color of the rainbow)
- Glue
- Paintbrush
Directions:
- Give each child a half of sheet of red, orange, yellow, green, blue and purple paper. Have your children tear the papers into pieces. Next have your children use a paintbrush to spread glue around their paper to form a rainbow. Then place the ripped paper in the glue in a rainbow pattern.
Fruit Loop Painting
Materials:
- Fruit Loops
- Plastic Bags
- Blocks
- Glue
- Paintbrushes
- Paper
Directions:
- Have each child scoop out a cupful of one color of Fruit Loops and pour them into their own Ziploc bag. Seal the bags and have each child pound his bag with a block to crush the Fruit Loops. Pour each individual color into a bowl. Let your children paint their paper with glue and sprinkle on different colors. This makes a yummy smelling creation, just keep it away from ants.
Tie Dye Sheet
Materials:
- White Sheet
- Spray Bottles
- Food Coloring
Directions:
- Fill spray bottles with water and food coloring. Hang a sheet outside, chainlink fences work great for this. Have your children spray the sheet. Once the shhet is try you can use it in your classroom as a table cloth, rug for group time or a bulletin board background.
Coffee Filter Butterflies
Materials:
- Coffee Filters
- Markers
- Clothes Pins
- Spray Bottle
Directions:
- Give each child a coffee filter to color. Spray the coffee filter with water to spread the colors. Once the coffee filter is dry, twist it in half and clip it with a clothes pin. Draw two eyes on the clothes pin to make a butterfly.
Glue Colors
Materials:
- White Glue
- Food Coloring
- Construction Paper
- Cups
Directions:
- Fill cups half way full with white glue and then add enough food coloring to change the color. Let your children dip their popsicled sticks into the glue and then drip them onto their paper. Encourage them to try dripping from up high and down low to see how the drops change. They can also use the sticks to rub colors together to make new colors.
