Christmas Count Down Chain
Directions:
Cut out twenty four 4"x1" links and one red bell for each child. Help your children number the the links from 1-24 and then attach them to form a chain from 24 to 1, attach the top link to the bell. Explain that each day they will be able to tear off one link and when they reach the bell it will be Christmas.
Christmas Box
Directions:
Place nonbreakable Christmas items in a box with a hole in the lid. Have your children put their hand in the box and try to feel what the different items are. You can use a candy cane, bell, bow etc.
Christmas Matching
Directions:
- Use a diecut macine or cookie cutter stencil to cut out a holiday shape (snowman or santa) cut out six colors of the shape, 2 of each. Laminate your shapes and each one to a tongue depressor.Place one of each color into the egg carton leaving one space empty next to them. Have your children find the matching color and place it next to its match. Then have fun singing a song using the "Brown Bear" sequencing, ie. Green Snowman, Green Snowman, who do you see? I see a Green Snowman looking at me.....continue for all colors used.
Christmas Card Puzzles
Directions:
- Cut Christmas cards into puzzle shapes, give each child one card and have them put it together to make a Christmas picutre.
Bell Science
Directions:
- Place a varitey of bells in your science area. Have your children shake the bells to see if size affects their shape. You can also put out socks, boxes etc. have your children place the bells into the containers to see howe they sound once they are covered up.
