"The Very Hungry Caterpillar" Caterpillar
Materials:- Paint
- Paper
- Pompoms
- Googly Eyes
- Have your children cut out a leaf from green construction paper. Next have them paint three Pompoms. They can then glue these to their leaves and make a really cute "Hungry Caterpillar"
Segments to a Caterpillar
Make several caterpillars heads and put different numbers on them. Have your children put the number of segments on the caterpillar to correspond to the number on the head
Caterpillar Change
There was a little caterpillar crawling all about. (Walk with fingers on arm)He worked and he worked without a doubt. (Wiggle fingers)
Wrapping himself in a snug cocoon.(Wrap other hand around fingers)
Waiting and waiting, will it be soon? (hold fingers)
Look, he's coming out, my oh my! (raise arms in excitement)
For now he's become a beautiful butterfly (Cross thumbs and flap hands like wings)
Bug Hunt
Go on a bug hunt and put the bugs in an aquarium for viewing throughout the week. If you would prefer not to keep the bugs you can take pictures and have an area for the kids to view the pictures.
